Lauren Peterson

Manager of Community Engagement and Outreach

Prior to coming to Enroll Indy, Lauren’s work through Education Plus Services LLC and Phalen Leadership Academies afforded her the opportunity to mentor and successfully recruit students, encourage families to engage in education, and develop partnerships with various organizations all in an effort to support student learning. She defines her role as one which assists families in finding a good fit for their child in an educational learning environment, through sharing knowledge, skills, and access with parents and students.

She understands that it takes an entire village to assist in the development of educating our youth positively. That village can be found at home, school, church and other positive nurturing environments.

Lauren is a lifelong resident of Indianapolis and former student of IPS schools. She is a business and education professional with 20 years of experience and proven success in the not for profit and private sector. She holds a Bachelors degree in Business Administration with a major in Business Management from Marian University.

Why do you do this work?
I strongly believe in a quote from Nelson Mandela: “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”

As educational leaders, we all must accept our role in educating our youth to lead healthy, productive, and successful lives. When I’m not working, I’m actively involved with my ten grandchildren ranging from ages one to thirteen and their activities. They, along with all children in our community, are the reason I continue to encourage and empower families on finding excellent schools.
