Privacy Policy

Enroll Indy, Inc. (“we,” “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy of your information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share the information we receive through your access and navigation of this website (the “Site”) and the services we offer through the Site, including, but not limited to, School Finder and school enrollment services, such as services related to school admissions applications and student registration (collectively, the “Services”).

The Site and Services are intended for use by parents or legal guardians of students who may enroll in schools in Indianapolis. In this Privacy Policy, “you” or “your” refers to any user of the Site or Services.

Effective Date
This Privacy Policy is effective as of July 15, 2017.

The Information We Collect

We collect various types of information from users of our Site and Services.

User Information. We may collect personally identifiable information about you, such as your first and last name, address, email address, telephone number, and Enroll Indy portal account username and password (collectively, “User Information”).

Student Information. We may collect personally identifiable information about students or prospective students, including, but not limited to, first and last names, addresses, dates of birth, student identification numbers, birth certificate information, and immunization records and other medical information (collectively, “Student Information”).

Site Usage Information. We may collect additional information from you that may not by itself reasonably identify you as the source (collectively, “Site Usage Information”). Site Usage Information may include your IP address; “click stream” activity, such as when you click on a banner advertisement; the type of Internet browser and computer operating system you are using; the location from which you are accessing the Site; the URL of the website from which you linked to our Site; the areas of our Site you visited; and the actions you performed on our Site. We will take reasonable measures to ensure that the Site Usage Information we collect is not personally identifiable and may not later be easily used to identify you except in the case of fraud checks or as otherwise required by applicable law.

How We Use and Disclose Information

General Uses and Disclosures. We may use the information we receive from users of our Site and Services for the purposes for which it was provided, including, but not limited to, the purposes described below.

Provision of Services. We may use and disclose User Information and Student Information to support our delivery of Services to you. For example, we may share such information with the Indianapolis Public Schools district and participating schools in connection with our school enrollment and student registration services. We may also make such information accessible to third-party service providers, such as our Site hosting and maintenance vendor, only when necessary to the delivery of our Services.

Contacting You. If you contact us by email, telephone, or mail to inquire about our Site or Services, we may use the User Information and/or Student Information we collected from you to respond to your inquiry. We may also use such information to contact you with updates and reminders about our Services.

Improving our Site and Services. We may use the User Information and Student Information we collect to enhance our understanding of our users’ preferences and improve our Site and Services accordingly. Further, we may analyze the Site Usage Information we collect to better understand our users’ interests and preferences with respect to the Site’s contents and functionalities.

Data Analysis and Research. As part of our continuous effort to better serve you, students, and prospective students, Enroll Indy may conduct research based on the information you provided to us while using our Site and Services. For example, we may compile and aggregate Student Information to analyze whether our Services have improved certain student populations’ access to education programs. We may also share limited User Information and Student Information with researchers, the Indianapolis Public Schools district, and other third parties for data aggregation, data analysis, and research purposes.

Service Providers. We may disclose User Information, Student Information, and Site Usage Information to third parties that perform activities to support our daily operations, such as Site hosting and maintenance, legal services, data analytics, and marketing. We will share with such third parties only the information they need to provide us with services. When possible, we will permit such third parties to access only anonymized data.

Law Enforcement, Safety, and Legal Processes. We may share User Information, Student Information, and/or Site Usage Information with law enforcement or other government officials if it relates to a criminal investigation or alleged criminal activity. We also may disclose User Information, Student Information, and/or Usage Information if required or permitted to do so by law; for fraud protection and credit risk reduction purposes, or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to protect and defend the rights or property of Enroll Indy or Enroll Indy’s users; and to act under urgent circumstances to protect the safety of Enroll Indy, its employees, its users, students or prospective students, or members of the public. We may also disclose your information to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, subpoena, or legal process.

Sale or Acquisition of Assets. If we become involved in a transaction involving the sale of our assets, such as a merger or acquisition, or if the Enroll Indy portal is transferred to another company or entity, we may disclose and/or transfer User Information, Student Information, and/or Site Usage Information as part of the transaction. If we are not the surviving entity in that transaction, the surviving entity may use User Information, Student Information, and/or Site Usage Information pursuant to its own privacy policies and practices, which may differ from this Privacy Policy.

Security of Personal Information

Unfortunately, no data transmitted over or accessible through the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we attempt to protect all Personal Information, we cannot ensure or warrant that Personal Information will be completely secure from misappropriation by hackers or from other nefarious or criminal activities, or in the event of a failure of computer hardware, software, or a telecommunications network. We will notify you in the event we become aware of a security breach involving your personally identifiable information (as defined by the applicable state and federal laws) stored by or for us. By disclosing your email address to us for any reason, you expressly consent to receive electronic notice from us in the event of such a security breach.

Other Provisions

Children’s Privacy. Neither the Site nor the Services are intended to solicit or collect information directly from children under the age of 13. If you are under the age of 13, please do not use this Site and ask your parent or legal guardian to use the Site and/or access our Services on your behalf. If you believe that we have inadvertently received information directly from a child under the age of 13, please notify us immediately at the contact information listed below.

Your California Privacy Rights. California law provides that California residents have a right to request organizations to tell them how their personal information has been shared, if at all, with third parties for the third parties’ direct marketing purposes. We generally do not share information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes. However, you may request information regarding this topic by reaching us at the contact information listed below.

Do Not Track. Certain web browsers and other devices you may use to access the Site may permit you to indicate your preference that you do not wish to be “tracked” online. At this time, the Site does not respond to “Do Not Track” signals.

Third Party Links. The Site may contain links to websites not affiliated with Enroll Indy. Your use of an external website or any informational content found on an external websites is subject to and governed by the terms and guidelines of those website(s). We do not endorse or make any representations or warranties concerning, and will not in any way be liable for, any informational content, products, services, software, or other materials available on an external website, even if one or more pages of the external website are framed within a page of this Site. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of any external website.

Google Analytics. We may share Site Usage Information with Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google. Google Analytics plants a cookie on your web browser to identify you as a unique user each time you visit the Site, but the cookie cannot be used by anyone but Google. We use Google Analytics to analyze Site Usage Information, research the effectiveness of the Site, and understand users’ preferences. Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your visits to our website is restricted by the Google Analytics Terms of Use and Google’s Privacy Policy. You may prevent Google Analytics from recognizing your future visits to the Site by disabling cookies on your browser or installing Google Analytics’ opt-out browser add-on.

Accessing and Updating Information. If you would like to access, update, delete, or modify User Information or Student Information, you may do so through the user account you have created on the Site. You may reach us at the contact information listed below if you need assistance or would like to delete your user account. Modifying, updating, or deleting User Information or Student Information will not result in the modification, updating, or deletion of any such information that may reside in back-up or disaster-recovery storage.

Opting Out of Communications. If you would like to opt out of receiving communications from Enroll Indy, you may do so by following any instructions included in our communications or by contacting us at the contact information listed below. Please note that Enroll Indy may provide your email address, telephone number, and/or mailing address to participating schools when you authorize us to do so. If you would like to stop receiving communications from those schools, please directly contact the schools with your request.

Updates to this Privacy Policy. We may periodically revise the Privacy Policy in our sole and absolute discretion to reflect changes in our practices or operations. Please check this Privacy Policy frequently for any changes. If we revise the Privacy Policy, we will notify you by posting the updated Privacy Policy on the Site. Changes to the Privacy Policy will become effective and will apply to the information collected starting on the date we post the revised Privacy Policy on the Site. Your continued use of the Site and our Services after any change has become effective will constitute your acceptance of any change.
